The First Article——Estradiol induced endoplasmic reticulum stress inhibition normalizes splenic CD4+T lymphocytes after hemorrhagic shock

Article Title:Estradiol-induced inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum stress normalizes splenic CD4+T lymphocytes following hemorrhagic shock

Publish a journal:scientific reports

impact factor(IF):4.379

Affiliation:Hebei North University

DOI:https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-021-87159-1

Article Topic:

This study mainly explores the effect of 17 β - estradiol (E2)/estrogen receptor (ER) signaling on inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) after hemorrhage, thereby inducing splenic CD4+T lymphocyte proliferation and cytokine production, and normalizing CD4+T lymphocytes. The author first discovered that after hemorrhagic shock, the spleen showed an inflammatory response and upregulated the ERS markers GRP78 and ATF6. Subsequently, a series of drug experiments confirmed that ERS plays a crucial role in hemorrhagic shock, and E2 can exert therapeutic effects by inhibiting CD4+T lymphocyte ERS.

This study provides new evidence that E2 improves immune suppression induced by hemorrhagic shock, helping to identify new therapeutic targets (ER) to alleviate organ damage and immune response after hemorrhagic shock.

Second article——The relationship between serum IL-37 and severity and prognosis in community-acquired pneumonia patients: a retrospective cohort study

Article Title:The Associations of Serum IL-37 With the Severity and Prognosis in Patients With Community-Acquired Pneumonia: A Retrospective Cohort Study

Publish a journal:Frontiers in Immunology

impact factor(IF):7.563

Affiliation:The Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University

DOI:10.3389/fimmu.2021.636896

Article Topic:

IL-37 may be involved in the pathophysiology of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). However, its exact biological role is still unclear. The purpose of this study is to determine the association between serum IL-37 and the severity and prognosis of CAP patients based on a retrospective cohort study. ELISA was used to detect the levels of IL-37 in the serum of healthy individuals and CAP patients to verify the hypothesis. The results showed a significant negative correlation between serum IL-37 levels and the severity and prognosis of CAP patients. At admission, serum IL-37 prolonged hospitalization time, indicating that IL-37 may be involved in the process of CAP. Therefore, serum IL-37 can serve as a biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of CAP patients.

The correlation between serum S100A9 and the severity and prognosis of community-acquired pneumonia patients: a prospective cohort study

Article Title:The associations of serum S100A9 with the severity and prognosis in patients with community-acquired pneumonia: a prospective cohort study

Publish a journal:BMC Infectious Diseases

impact factor(IF):3.091

Affiliation:The Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University

DOI:https://doi.org/10.1186/s12879-021-06020-y

Article Topic

S100A9 may be involved in the pathophysiology of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). But the role of S100A9 in CAP is still unclear. To further investigate the role of S100A9 in CAP, ELISA was used to detect the levels of S100A9 and inflammatory cytokines in the serum of healthy individuals and CAP patients. The results show that upon admission,  Serum S100A9 levels are elevated in CAP patients. The serum S100A9 gradually increases with the severity score of CAP. In addition, compared with the control group, CAP patients showed an increase in inflammatory cytokines and changes in blood routine parameters. Correlation analysis found that serum S100A9 was positively correlated with CAP severity score, blood routine parameters (WBC, NLR, and MON), and inflammatory cytokines. In addition, logistic regression analysis showed a positive correlation between serum S100A9 and CAP severity score. In addition, track the prognosis of CAP. Early elevation of serum S100A9 increases the risk of death and hospital stay in CAP patients.

This study suggests that S100A9 may play a role in the pathophysiology of CAP and is considered a biomarker for serum diagnosis of CAP.

Article 4- Correlation of DJ-1, VDR, and Nrf-2 in the lungs of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A case-control study

Article Title:Correlations among Pulmonary DJ-1, VDR and Nrf-2 in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Case-control Study

Publish a journal:International Journal of Medical Sciences

impact factor(IF):3.731

Affiliation:The Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University

DOI: 10.7150/ijms.58452

Article Topic:

DJ-1 participates in redox reactions and acts on nuclear factor red blood cells; A stabilizer for factor 2 (Nrf-2).   Nrf-2 regulates downstream antioxidant defense systems and plays an important role in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Vitamin D receptor (VDR) is a nuclear receptor that regulates downstream target genes. To analyze  The association between lung function, DJ-1, VDR, and Nrf-2 in COPD patients. By collecting clinical tissues and using ELISA and Western blot detection The expression of DJ-1 was detected by immunohistochemistry for Nrf-2 and VDR expression. The results showed that the serum and lung tissue of COPD patients; The DJ-1 level was lower than that of the control group. The VDR positive nuclei in the lungs of COPD patients decrease. Nrf-2 positive cell nuclei are reduced in lung tissue of COPD patients. On the contrary, downstream target proteins related to Nrf-2 are elevated in COPD patients. Further correlation analysis shows that forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) in COPD patients is positively correlated with lung DJ-1, VDR, and Nrf-2. In addition, DJ-1, VDR, and Nrf-2 are positively correlated in lung tissue of COPD patients. In summary, compared with the control group, DJ-1, VDR, and Nrf-2 were reduced in COPD patients. The reduction of DJ-1 and VDR associated with Nrf-2 downregulation may be involved in the process of COPD.

This study suggests that DJ-1, VDR, and Nrf-2 possibly COPD Plays a certain role in pathophysiology.
